Hello everyone! As part of Short Story Saturday, I have posted another short story, this one entitled A Silly Blog Post. Please enjoy.
I just wanted to entertain people. I never expected a blatantly farcical blog post to somehow get a life of its own. It was never supposed to be taken seriously. I was frustrated with the team and wanted to write something silly to blow off some steam.
Hello everyone! As part of Short Story Saturday, I have posted another short story, this one entitled An Anonymous Letter. Inspired loosely by https://www.writersdigest.com/prompts/the-hate-note. Please enjoy.
“I think you’ll like what’s inside,” said the auburn-haired, bushy-bearded man as he handed a beaten up envelope to the glowering man standing stood crossed arms in front of his fancy two-story abode. “Sorry, it got all messed up and stuff. It’s been sittin’ in my pocket since this mornin’. Meant ta give it to ya then but I forgot. Sorry about that Corny.”
“It’s Cornelius,” the clean-shaven blonde man replied as he removed one arm from his chest to take the envelope out of his neighbor’s hand, “I wait to see its contents with breathless anticipation, Timothy.”
Hello everyone! As part of Short Story Saturday, I have posted another short story, this one entitled The Rosean-Tenebris War. Please enjoy.
Lady Aequitas wept. Her kingdom was splintering at the seams. The Land of Rosea had invaded the Land of Tenebris after years of peaceful coexistence. All effort made to unite the land of Libertas appeared to be for naught.
Hello everyone! As part of Short Story Saturday, I have posted another short story, this one entitled Holding onto a Memory. Please enjoy.
Contrary to what my wife believed, it wasn’t because I blamed myself for the loss. I’m not surprised that’s what she believed. Whenever the topic was brought up, I’d hastily change topics and refused to speak of the matter any further. It was the only logical conclusion she could have reached.
Hello everyone! As part of Short Story Saturday, I have posted another short story, this one entitled Confabulation during the Consumption of Morningtide Comestibles. Please enjoy. Original writing prompt taken from https://www.writersdigest.com/prompts/one-shot
“You seem to have quite an appetite this morning,” the woman muttered as she took the plate from the man seated at the kitchen table. He had just finished eating his third bagel and second instant waffle of the morning.
Hello everyone! Back on schedule this week. Hat tip to my father for giving me the prompt for this story. As part of Short Story Saturday, I have posted another short story, this one entitled The Journey. Please enjoy.
A faint bit of moonlight illuminated my path. Dark clouds covered the sky. A middling bit of moonlight managed to penetrate the thicket of tree branches dangling overhead.
I clutched my coat against my chest. Not in response to the cold, though the wind had picked up and the temperature certainly had dropped significantly as the night approached the witching hour. No, it was due to the fear induced by my hostile surroundings.
Wolves inhabited these coppices. Their howls were barely audible at first but had grown noticeably louder and angrier. They were savage. Merciless. Cruel. They would not hesitate to eat me alive. Those woods had claimed many a traveler. Only the most brave or foolhardy dared to make that trek.
Sorry everyone. No short story this Saturday. I’m afraid my muse didn’t inspire me this week. I think I have the fruition of another story in mind but unfortunately, I couldn’t bring it all together today and I didn’t want to rush out an inferior short story to satisfy an arbitrary deadline. That’s not to say I won’t try and have one up for you tomorrow. I’ll definitely have one up by this Saturday and perhaps another one if at all possible. Please forgive me.
Hello everyone! As part of Short Story Saturday, I have posted another short story, this one entitled Why You Never Celebrate in a Weird Bar. Please enjoy.
Waking up after a bender is never a fun thing but you can get used to anything if it’s done long enough. After a while, dealing with dry mouth and nausea became as part of the morning routine as wiping the crud out of your eyes. At least, that’s my excuse as to why I never bothered giving up staying up late drinking at random dive bars, but my latest experience and this sudden pain in my chest is beginning to change my mind. To think, it all happened this morning. Allow me to explain. Continue reading Short Story Saturday: Why You Never Celebrate in a Weird Bar
